Taylorsville Days

We went to Taylorsville Days with my grandparents and my aunts and their families.  It was so much fun!  We met at Jenny's house so we could all head over to the park together.  While we were waiting for everyone to come Lydia decided to push people on the swing.  She loved pushing GGma and I think that these pictures are absolutely precious.  My grandma is so good to Lydia and Brooke.  I love watching them interact with each other.

Lydia also loved pushing Justin.  He is such a good dad and is always playing with them.
My grandparents with the girls while we were waiting for the fireworks.  We got there pretty early so we could save seats.  They had a fun little concert going on that we could hear in the background.

Lydia loved being able to wrestle with Justin while we were waiting.  She was in heaven because she was able to run around and play with Justin, play with GGma and GGpa and also some of my cousin's kids.

She also got a popsicle to cool down with.  She loved it and I think she thought she was getting away with something.
We went and walked around the little booths they had there and Lydia saw the carousel.  She was so excited to ride the horses.  There was no way we'd be able to leave without letting her ride them.  She loves riding the carousels.
Lydia and I were able to wrestle too.  As the night went on she got more and more silly because it was past her bedtime and she was getting tired.  Lydia and Brooke were both so good the whole night.
Brooke had a flashing binki that she was playing with while we were waiting.  It doesn't show up well in the picture, but the look on her face was still cute!
I love Brooke's face in this picture as the fireworks started going off.  She would watch them for awhile and then crawl somewhere and then hurry and turn around to watch them again.
When the fireworks started Lydia was sitting on my lap.  She got off soon after and I thought she was going to run around with Brighton and Cole but she ran right over to GGma and climbed into her lap.  It was so cute because you could see her snuggle herself into place.  GGma covered Lydia up with the blanket and then Lydia fell asleep.  She sure does love her GGma.  I was totally surprised that Lydia fell asleep.  It was so cute.
We had so much fun at Taylorsville Days and we were glad we were able to spend time with the family.  I love how I am still close with all of my extended family.

Whitmer Reunion

We went to Idaho for the Whitmer Reunion again this year.  I made sure to put my camera battery in the charger so it would be ready to go for the reunion, however, I forgot to take it out of the charger and put it back in my camera.  I didn't realize this until I went to take the first picture.  The pictures that I do have are off of Justin's phone so I wasn't able to get any of the family or anything like that.  This is the view of the area from the cabin that we stayed in.
Lydia was excited to get to go camping.  She was anxious to get into the cabin.
People are always on four wheelers at the reunion.  Kids as little as three years old have their own four wheelers.  Sometimes it was pretty scary so I made sure to always know where Lydia was so she didn't get run over.  Lydia liked going on the four wheeler with Justin.
Lydia also liked just being able to go and and explore the whole time.  It was very hot and the cabin doesn't have a lot of shady areas, you can see Lydia's cheeks are red from the heat.
We put Brooke in some overalls so that she could crawl somewhat without scraping her legs up.  Doesn't she look so cute in them?  I thought she looked like a little doll in the overalls.

Justin was able to go on a long four wheeler ride with some of his family and his cousin.  They all came back so dirty it was so funny.
This was his view from the top of the mountain.
The reunion definitely wore the girls out.  I couldn't help but post the pictures of them sleeping.  Lydia always started the night out on our bed and then we moved her onto her little air mattress once we were ready for bed.
Brooke didn't want to take a nap the first day, but she slept really well the other days.
This is my favorite picture of Lydia.  She is all sprawled out and taking up the entire bed.  She is also turned the wrong way on the bed.  She wiggles constantly even in her sleep!
We had a lot of fun at the reunion.  Justin's cousins are so much fun to talk to and hang out with so it is nice to catch up with all of them.  We also were able to go swimming on this trip which the girls loved but none of the pictures worked good enough to post.  As always, we are looking forward to next year!

Brooke is 9 Months Old

Brooke turned nine months old on June 19th!  She is so much fun to have around and definitely keeps me on my toes!  At her nine month check- up she weighed 21 pounds which is the 85 percentile to weight.  She was 28.15 inches long which is the 72 percentile for length.

Here are some of the things that she is up to:
**She got her first two bottom teeth.  She had a hard time with teething and would wake up crying in the middle of the night for a couple of weeks.
**She crawls all over the place.
**She can crawl up stairs.
**She had fallen down our stairs into the family room twice.
**She pulls herself up onto things and walks along them.
**She is starting to get more clingy to me.
**She crawls to me and stands up next to my leg all the time.
**She loves to pull herself up on the kitchen cabinets.
**She won't hold still to get her clothes or her diapers changed.
**She is constantly moving.  She wouldn't even hold still for me to take pictures of her.
**She loves to play with toys.  She gets exceptionally excited when I let her play with one of Lydia's toys while Lydia is napping.
**She waves bye bye.
**She loves to clap.
**She loves to dance.  She dances by putting her hands in a fist and moving her arms up and down and then she starts to bounce.  Lydia watches My Little Ponies and Brooke always starts dancing during the opening theme song.

**She makes the cutest little facial expression with her mouth (you can somewhat see it in the next picture).
**She is almost always happy.
**She loves to eat and loves to eat table scraps.
**She loves playing in the bath tub.  She always takes baths with Lydia and she is very patient about Lydia dumping the water on her head over and over.
**She wants to do whatever Lydia is doing and always wants to be right by her (or me).

**She will walk if she is holding onto someone or pushing the walker.
**She jibber jabbers a lot and can be quite a talkative baby.
Here is another picture of her making the cute facial expression that I like.  I think that she is feeling her teeth with her lip or something, but regardless it is so cute and she does it quite often.
Brooke is such a good baby and we are blessed to have her in our lives.  She keeps us busy and she has to be supervised at all times because she loves exploring to see what everything is.

JaNae and Jacoby's Visit

I was lucky enough the other day to have one of my bestest friends come and visit.  JaNae moved to Kansas City a little over a year ago and she was in town for a few short days and I was lucky enough to get to visit with her.  She brought her cute little boy Jacoby.  Brooke and Jacoby had so much fun crawling all over with each other.
The two of them both climbed over to the railing and pulled themselves up.  It was so cute watching them try to get through.  Brooke climbs up on the railing quite often, but I think this time it was a lot more fun because she had a friend to play with.

It was so fun seeing JaNae (and Joan- her mom came to visit too).  I wish JaNae lived closer so that we could hang out more.  It made me realize how much I miss having her around!

South Jordan Town Days

We took the girls to the South Jordan parade and they loved it!  Brooke enjoyed sitting in her stroller eating snacks while she watched the parade.  Lydia loved being able to get the candy people threw out.  It took her a while to get used to what she was supposed to do, but she learned to get out there quick when people threw the candy.

Brooke was so content the whole parade.  I don't think she made a single noise the whole time.  At one point some little girls from the parade were passing out bead necklaces and Brooke loved those.  The girls put them on Brooke.  Brooke started smiling and instantly started playing with them.  I think she liked the noise they made.

Lydia did really good during the parade.  Before it started she found a few thing to entertain herself with like switching hats with Justin and moving the traffic cones.

"Horses, are you?"  "Are you horses?"  We told her there would be horses so she kept going into the street trying to find them.

Brooke just smiled the whole time.
After the parade we went over to the little carnival thing they had.  Lydia was able to ride in this little train thing.  The guy that was driving it didn't even charge us for her to ride it.  She loved it!

When we first walked into the park where the carnival was Lydia saw the carousel.  We told her she had to look at everything else before we would take her on it.  Once we told her we were done looking she took off running to the horses.  She was so excited.

Brooke didn't get to ride on any of the rides.  Poor little thing.
We let Lydia pick one more ride to go on and she chose the motorcycles.  She was a little more worried about these ones, but still had a lot of fun on them.
It is fun having the kids and being able to take them to activities like this.  Lydia is at the fun age when she can actually do some of the things too!
