Four Months

Lydia turned four months old yesterday, June 23rd. She is getting so old and so big! She woke up really happy and kept waving her hands around for her little photo shoot. In some of the pictures her arms are blurry because she was so happy.Some fun facts about Lydia are:

*She loves to suck her hands. Usually if she has her right hand in her mouth it is just her index finger, and if her left hand is in her mouth she has her index finger, ring finger, and middle finger in her mouth.

*She smiles whenever she sees Justin and me.

*She likes to try to sit up by herself - sometimes she even does it successfully.

*She loves to be tickled; her neck, sides, under arms, and feet are ticklish.

*She loves to razz and blow spit bubbles.

*She loves to babble and try to talk.

*When she takes naps she has to have something over her face and something to hold on to.

*She still likes to have her binki upside down.

*She tries to fight sleep. If she is too tired she tries to stay awake.
We love having Lydia around. She is such a good little baby and rarely cries, unless I am around people and then she seems to get fussy making me a liar about saying she rarely cries. She loves to be around her cousin. He loves her just as much. He baby talks to her and everything. They are pretty cute together.Nathan thinks that he has to help change her diapers, buckle her into her carseat, and pretty much anything else he thinks he needs to do.Lydia likes to come lay in bed with Justin and I in the mornings before we all get ready. She just lays there and smiles and turns her head back and forth from me to Justin. So so cute.I can't believe that she is already four months old. She is such a wonderful blessing in our lives!!

Justin's First Official Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!!! For Father's Day we drove up to Logan to hang out with my parents. It made for a busy weekend, but it was a lot of fun. We had fun celebrating Justin's first official Father's Day.Justin got to Lydia's hair. Do you like the mohawk? Just goes to show that I can't leave Lydia with Justin anymore. For Father's Day I thought I would give Justin the opportunity to change all of Lydia's diapers. All though he was game for the idea, I changed most of them. Lydia's First Camping Trip

Last weekend we went camping with my sisters. We went up American Fork Canyon to the Timpooneke Campgrounds. We had a lot of fun and the weather was perfect!Lydia was an angel during the trip. She fell asleep while playing in her car seat out by the fire and then when I moved her into the tent when we all went to bed, she ate and cried for about five minutes (loud, hard crying) and then while I was holding her she instantly fell asleep. Silly little girl. She woke up a few times during the night, but once I put the binki back into her mouth she fell back to sleep.When we were setting up the tents we realized that the tent Justin and I were going to use was missing a pole so we weren't able to use the tent. It was pretty funny. Luckily for us, Cammie had bought Dan a tent for Father's Day that was the size of Texas and had room divider things so Justin, Lydia and I shared a tent with them. Nathan thought us doing shadow puppets on the walls was pretty funny.
Justin was out searching for fire wood and went looking in some bush things and ended up with these pokey things on him.

On the way down the canyon we took a detour to Tibble Fork Reservoir. We had a good time camping!

Working with Daddy

Last Tuesday Lydia and I went out on a job with Justin. He had a lot observation up East Canyon. It is for some guy that just bought about 8,000 acres and is going to build a huge house with a barn and all sorts of fun stuff on it. I am pretty jealous. It'd be awesome to have something like that. The picture isn't very good of him. That colored speck in the middle is Justin doing his job. I still haven't figured out what exactly he does. Plays in the dirt mostly and this is proof of it. He walked out there with his shovel, looked and the dirt, wrote some notes on a paper, and then moved on to more dirt.Here Justin is doing more work. Best looking engineer I have ever met! This is Lydia waiting in the car while Justin was working. She likes watching out the window on drives so I think that she enjoyed going up the canyon.
This cabin was on the lot that Justin was working on. It is one of the original stops for the Pony Express trail. This is Justin after a job well done!

Whitmer Reunion

This weekend was the annual Whitmer Reunion at Little Creek Ranch up a canyon near Paragonah. It is the time of year when all the Whitmers gather together to go dirt biking, paint balling, shooting, dutch ovening, game playing, and pretty much whatever else they want to do. This year there were a lot less Whitmers gathered than last year. Not everyone was able to make it. It just wasn't the same without them there.This is a view of the main cabin. It has nine (or so) bedrooms- each with a few beds in it, two lofts, four bathrooms, a kitchen, and a very large gathering area. It is really nice. This year was colder and a little rainy so we spent more time indoors so the gathering area was nice.
This is a view of a one bedroom cabin that is also on the property. This is where Justin, Lydia, and I stayed so that if she cried during the night we wouldn't wake everyone up. The little cabin had a wood burning stove in it so we started a fire and were able to keep the cabin warm. That made things with a 3 month old baby a lot easier.This is the wood burning stove that was in the cabin. It was fun to use. I can't imagine cooking or baking anything in it though.Justin was in charge of keeping it going. I woke him up during the night to add more wood to it so it wouldn't die out completely. We also put Lydia in her flower pajamas to keep her warm. It made it so we could keep her head warmer.
Over her pajamas we put her in a sleeping bag type of pajamas and then we bundled her in a blanket. I think between the layers and the fire going she was just the right temperature.
Justin was able to get a couple of paint ball games in. He also was able to go shooting and on a dirt bike ride. I don't have pictures of the last two though.
This is what I did most of the time. Lydia still takes three or four naps during the day and she sleeps a lot better at night if she has taken some good naps. All in all, she did really good at the reunion. She was still off her schedule and didn't really like being passed from person to person, but for the most part she was here happy, little self. We played a game of charades and name that movie. It was fun watching everyone act out the shows and then come up with lines from movies to quote.The above picture is of the guys during the game of charades. There were a few different card games that were usually taking place.Justin thought he would be funny and teach the little kids how to wrestle.
We had a good time visiting with family and just getting away for a few days! Can't wait until next year; hopefully more people will be able to go!!
