Lydia is Eleven Months Old

Lydia is growing up way too fast. It is weird to think that she is almost a year old. It doesn't seem like it has been that long.I know that a lot of these pictures are similar, but I can't help but post them all because she has such a cute little smile. Lydia is growing more and more every day. It has been so much fun to watch her personality start showing more as each month has passed by.I think that she is pretty photogenic, but would still have to say that pictures don't do her justice either. She is so much cuter in real life.
Lydia and Daisy are always together so I thought it would be fun to get both of them in a picture. It is very hard to get them to both look at the camera at the same time.We really can't imagine life without Lydia. She keeps us busy. Most of my day is spent crawling around on the floor after her and listening to her giggle and talk to herself. We are blessed to have such a happy baby.I think that it is so cute watching her climb the stairs so I am posting pictures of that too.I love the little underpants on this dress. Here are some things that Lydia has been up to at eleven months:
**She can say Mama (yes, that is number one on my list)
**She crawls over to things and hugs them by laying her cheek on them. She hugs her stuffed toys, Daisy, the floor, the couch, and us. I love the hugs.
**She climbs stairs (she has climbed up the entire stair case)
**Claps at everything still (loves to clap - she claps and smiles)
**Talks (babbles) all the time
**Reads books (she babbles as she is reading, you would almost think she knows what the book says)
**Loves to feed herself
**Pulls herself up onto things
**Walks with a walker
**Plays with Daisy non-stop
**Crawls over to me and reaches her arms up asking to be picked up (this is very new that she likes to be held for a little while, I love it)
**She still is very independent and likes to do things alone
**Looks out the back window and says Dada dada when she thinks Justin should be coming home from work
**Stands up in her crib when she wakes up
**Chews on her crib when she is standing up
**Still only has her two bottom teeth
**She holds objects (mostly my phone) to her ear and pretends to talk
**She doesn't like to sit still in church
**She still tries to eat Daisy's dog food
**She tries to crawl away as we are changing her diaper
**She loves baths and loves to crawl around in the tub. She will even put her face in the water all by herself.
**She loves to mimic noises and sounds
**She loves to do raspberries when she is being fed
**When we go shopping and she is sitting in the shopping cart she turns around as much as possible so she can see where we are going. She also thinks she needs to play with everything that I put into the cart.
She really is just so much fun to have around. We love her so much!

Tending Nathan

Lydia and I tended Nathan last Friday while Cammie and Dan went to the temple. Nathan said that they went to the temple to get married. He's pretty funny. Lydia loved having him there because it gave her someone to follow around the entire time. Nathan was very good with her. He knew that the snacks he wanted were Lydia's so he would make sure to give Lydia one for every two or three he took. He would make sure to tell me that it was okay if he ate it because Lydia was sharing with him. Lydia is so good at sharing.

We made pizza for lunch. Nathan loves to help make things. He always pulls a chair up to the counter.He helped with the whole process. He helped put the crust in the pan, and then spread the sauce onto it.We then added the cheese, and of course, the pepperonis. For every one or two that made it onto the pizza, one or two made it into his mouth also.He spread the pepperonis out all by himself. He did a great job!Then you have to wait for it to cook in the oven. It is so much fun watching pizza cook.
Next you put on a bib so you don't get messy. Too bad he was at a little girl's house and only had certain bibs to choose from.Let's not forget the best part, eating the pizza! Yummy!
Nathan also helped make flowers to give to his mom. He liked that the leaves were made out of hearts. He did all of the gluing, and taping for the flowers. Lydia was sad when he left and stood and looked outside the window. She loves it when she gets to play with other kids.

Lydia and her Puppy

Lydia got this little puppy from my parents for Christmas. Whenever she holds it she always gives it a hug. She loves it. She also likes to sit in the chair that she got for Christmas. She tries to climb into it by herself.

Stairs

Lydia learned how to climb up the stairs last week. She has played around the stairs for awhile now, but never tried to climb up them. One day she decided that she wanted to go up. So up she went. Then down. Then up. Then down. Then up. We moved her away from the stairs and she raced back to them and up she went again. She only goes up two stairs and then we have a little landing and she stops, turns around and claps.

Ten Months Turning Sixteen Years

It is official. My ten month old baby has now turned sixteen years old!She is pretending to drive her car while she is talking on my cell phone. She holds the phone to her ear and talks. She is so silly. The funny thing about this is that I don't really talk on my phone that often and most of the time she is napping if I am on the phone. She is learning so quickly!

Lydia's Pony Tail

Lydia's hair now fits into a pony tail. It might have fit sooner, but I never tried. Pretty good for only being ten (almost eleven) months old.She played with the brush for quite a while. She was fascinated by it.Notice that Daisy is right there by her. She is always right by Lydia. Sometimes when Lydia is taking a nap she sneaks into her room to look at her. They are such good friends.

Daisy's New Friends

On Saturday we were out on a walk with Daisy and she met some new friends. Eagle Mountain has a lot of walking trails through the neighborhoods, and we had let Daisy off of her leash and she was just running in front of us when all of the sudden this big border collie/golden retriever mix came and started chasing after her. Justin took off after both the dogs trying to save Daisy. I was pushing the stroller with Lydia and stayed behind, only to find out that we had a great dane chasing us. I called to Justin to let him know he needed to come back, but then we realized that they were both nice. Luckily for us.We checked their collars to see if we could find their owner's number to let them know where their dogs were, but they didn't have any name tags. We decided to walk around the neighborhood for a while to see if we could find anyone that knew who the dogs belonged too. They had matching collars so we knew they most likely came from the same owners. We couldn't find their owners so we tried calling animal control, but their offices were closed and we couldn't get hold of anyone. We felt really bad but didn't know what else to do so we went home, and they followed. When we were on our walk, Justin walked in front of Lydia and me with the dogs and Lydia just kept laughing at them. She loved them.
I wanted to keep them until we found their owners, but knew that it wasn't practical so we just had to leave them outside. I am certain that they found their way back home though. They were such good happy dogs, and the were huge! They made Daisy look tiny!I named them Tiny and Fluffy. If only we had a yard!

Books

Lydia loves looking at books. She turns the pages on them and babbles as if she was really reading them. She plays with the books more than she plays with any of her toys. I have her books on the bottom shelf of the bookshelf in the living room and she will crawl over to it and pull them all off of the shelf and then she'll pick one and sit there and flip through the pages. Lately when I try to take a picture of her she reaches her hand out toward the camera. She also is learning how to talk on the cell phone. She will listen to the person on the other end and sometimes she will even babble back. She is growing up so quickly!She had the cell phone up to her ear before I pointed the camera on her, then she had to show me it for the picture.

Sledding

On Saturday, Justin, Lydia, and I went sledding up American Fork Canyon with Justin's friend Scott and Scott's girlfriend Jamie. It was pretty cold and there was a breeze which made it feel even colder.Lydia and I didn't got down the hill. It was a little steeper than I was expecting and I didn't want to risk it with Lydia. We want to find a smaller hill where we can take Lydia down it. We just sat there and watched.Justin and Scott getting ready to go down the hill.Justin kept trying to get some air over this jump, but they kept putting their feet down to slow the speed down.Lydia started getting cold and a little fussy since she couldn't move at all in her snow suit so I took into the car to play.She liked playing with her mittens. They were too big for her hands to wear how they should be worn so she has all five fingers int he big section and then we pulled them up on her and they went half way up her arm but they are the smallest ones we could find.These next pictures are just really cute of Lydia. She loves looking out windows and I love the facial expressions she makes.Daisy got to come too. She got cold and started to shiver so she got to come back and sit in the car too.Daisy loves playing in the snow though.The view was really pretty.We had fun. We always love a chance to get outside and do things.
