Wellsville Park

After family pictures we went to a park in Wellsville.  It is a fun park.  It has a big pond that has fish and ducks.  Lydia enjoyed feeding the ducks.  I love her little pose in her hat.  She insists on wearing a hat when we visit my parents because my dad wears a hat just like it.

Both of the girls liked playing at the park...so did Justin.

Sometimes Lydia seems so big.  She loves being the one to push Brooke in the stroller.  She thinks she is being so helpful!
However, at other times she still looks so little.  She is definitely a grandpa's girl.

Family Pictures

We had family pictures taken at Second Dam up Logan Canyon.  My brother in law took them and we love how they turned out.  The girls were good and cooperated and the weather was perfect!!

There were so many good pictures!!  It was hard to narrow down which ones I wanted to post.
Brooke showing us that she is one with her cute, cheesy grin.
Lydia looks so grown up in the picture!  I can't believe how big she is getting.

 I love this!

Brooke copies everything that Lydia does.

 What a cute family!

 This one is the cutest!
 Sisterly love!

Don't you just love that face?
And by the end, this is how we felt!
We are blessed to have such a wonderful family!

Brooke's Birthday

We did most of the celebrating for Brooke's birthday before her birthday, but we wanted to still do something special on her birthday so we went out to dinner at Arctic Circle and let her have her first ice cream cone!  At first she just stuck her fingers into the ice cream.

Lydia showed her how to properly eat an ice cream cone!

Lydia and Brooke always need to be copying each other!
Justin enjoying his ice cream cone.

Brooke and Lydia being the cutest sisters ever.
Lydia and Brooke love to take each others orders.  The play place has the perfect area to do it too!

We had so much fun celebrating Brooke's first birthday.  She really is a little doll!  Happy Birthday Brooke.  We love you!

Brooke's 1st Birthday Party

We celebrated Brooke's birthday the Sunday before her birthday.  My parents and Jillian, Brady, and Xander were able to come down to help us celebrate.
We decided to do a lady bug theme since my dad decided when Brooke was first born that she liked ladybugs.  It actually fits her very well.

Lydia loved being able to celebrate with Brooke.  She kept trying to sing her "Happy Birthday," but instead she sings, "Happy day Brooke.  Happy day you.  Happy day Brooke."  It is pretty cute!
Xander wasn't quite sure what to think about having Lydia hold him.

Brooke liked opening her presents, but probably not as much as Lydia liked helping Brooke open her presents.

Brooke was spoiled.  She got money for her own bank account from my parents plus some puzzles.  Cammie and Dan gave her some puzzles.  Matthew and Lisa gave her a little baby doll in a pea pod.  She got iphone walkie talkies from the Shorts.  The Parkers gave her money.  Justin's parents gave her a remote control helicopter toy and a darling little outfit.  Lydia gave her a Little People toy dump truck.  She got the lady bug baby doll, some bath foam letters, and some more puzzles from Justin and me.  She is definitely a spoiled little girl!
Making cakes hasn't ever been my strength in life.  I can't even frost a simple cake and make it look good.  Birthday cakes are a very daunting task for me.  So of course, I pull out the scrapbook paper and everything seems easier!

Brooke was getting pretty excited for her cake!
She started slow and just pulled the mini oreos off that I had used as the dots.

She made sure to enjoy each little bite.

All done!  Her hands were completely red from all of the frosting when she was done!
We had a fun time celebrating Brooke's first birthday!  It has been such a fun year.  Things haven't always been perfect, and at times they've been hard, but we love having Brooke in our family.  She is such a sweet little trouble maker!  We love you Brooke!
