Introducing Keera

Keera Mae was born on Tuesday, September 24th at 1:37 pm.  She weighed 8 pounds 9 ounces and was 20 inches long!  I was induced about 8:30 that morning so it wasn't a very long labor at all.  She arrived without even really having to push.  My doctor said that is was a text book perfect delivery!

I was able to hold her right after she was born.  She was beautiful!

She weighed 8 pounds 9 ounces.  My doctor was pretty anxious to see how much she weighed because she has such cute, chubby cheeks.

Brooke and Lydia were so excited to meet her!  My mom was at our house watching them and she said that Lydia asked all day long if she could come and see "Mommy's baby" at the doctor.

Baby Keera bought the girls presents for being such good big sisters.  They got magna doodles and a ballerina princess doll.

Brooke and Lydia also had a lot of fun playing in the closet in my hospital room.

I love the smile on Lydia's face.  She was so excited to get to hold Keera.  She absolutely loved her.

Brooke Turns Two!

Brooke turned two!  These two years have been so much fun, but Brooke has definitely kept us on our toes.  She learned how to do things so much faster than Lydia.  She loves to climb on everything and has for a very long time.  She is very independent and loves doing things by herself.  I you try to help her she gets mad and says, "Me do it" in her little, deep voice.  Sometimes it is pretty adorable.  She loves her big pink blankets.  Brooke loves doing everything that Lydia does and having Lydia do everything that she does.  We are very lucky to have Brooke around!  We started her birthday off by letting her open presents.  Lydia insisted on helping. 

 Lydia picked out a bike helmet for Brooke and was very excited to give it to her.  Brooke loved the purse that Matthew and Lisa sent and actually wouldn't put it down to open other presents once she opened that one.

 Justin and I got her a train set.  She loves trains and says "choo choo" in her little, deep voice whenever she sees them.

 

 We went to Jungle Jims with my parents and Cammie, Nathan and Ashley.  Brooke loves going on the rides.  She was the only one of the kids that would go on the spinning roller coaster type one with my dad.

 

 

 My dad was hanging Lydia upside down.  Lydia thought that was a lot of fun.

 After Jungle Jims, my parents came back to our house for some pizza and cake and ice cream.  We did a train themed birthday for Brooke.  She seemed to like it.

 Brooke doesn't show emotion on her face very often.  She gets this very serious, focused face.  It is pretty funny.

 

 Two years old!  She is getting so big.  She actually wears the same size shoe as Lydia.

 We put her cake in front of her and Justin was getting ready to light the candle and Brooke started nibbling away at the corner of the cake.

When you ask Brooke what her name is she says, "Brooke Brooke."  It is absolutely adorable.  She loves to sing and often times starts singing at the top of her lungs and then she starts spinning in a circle while she is singing.  She loves riding bikes and playing with Ivy.  She is quite the talker and speaks clearly and can say sentences.  We love our little Brooke Brooke!  Happy Birthday!

Birthday Celebrations Downtown

We wanted to make sure we did something for Brooke's birthday just in case the baby decided to come a week early.  We weren't really expecting her to arrive early because she is still really high and not showing any signs of coming, but we thought we'd plan ahead just in case.  We went downtown and rode on Trax because Brooke is loving trains right now.  They had fun watching for the train to come and then being on the train was fun.  I didn't get any pictures on the train for some reason though.  We took Trax to Discovery Gateway where we all had a lot of fun.

 

 

 They liked pretending that they were on tv.  Lydia was having fun changing the backdrops on the green screen.  Brooke liked the big turtle, and of course, Lydia liked the horses.

 After we were done at Discovery Gateway we went to lunch at Subway and then headed back to the Trax station to ride the trains back to our car.

 

It was a fun day and as you can tell from Brooke's face, the girls were completely worn out!

Utah State Fair

We went to the Utah State Fair while Matthew and Lisa were here too.  It was fun to have them around and to have them be able to see the girls personalities come through around all of the animals and such.

They have a place called "Tiny Hands on the Farm" where the girls go from shed to shed learning different things about animals and farming.

They got to pick some apples.  They put them in their baskets and would deliver them to different parts.

They got to ride on little tractors.

They got to brush a sheep.  They also got to do quite a few other things.  At the end they are given some "money" to spend at a store where they get to buy a snack.

Lisa was having a lot of fun with the girls.  I love the look on Brooke's face.

Lydia and Brooke both loved the animals.

Lydia kept going up to all of the cows and petting them and then turning and posing for a picture.  She is at a really cute and fun age.

Brooke has such a concentrated face.  It's hard to really tell her emotion, but she was having fun.

We had to get a picture of "grandma" as a chicken too.

We had  a little rain delay while we were there.  We ran over to the pigs and the girls had so much fun dancing in the rain (until I made them come back and get out of the rain.  I know, mean mom.).

Justin was super excited to get to eat his turkey leg.  I found it disgusting, but he loved it (and so did Brooke).

Brooke sat on my mom's lap the whole time.  My mom had wrapped her in a fleece blanket and Brooke didn't try to move the entire rodeo.

Matthew and Lisa kept checking the BYU score during the rodeo.

Lydia loves rodeos.  She loves all of the jumping horses.

It didn't rain at all during the rodeo, but Jillian and Brady kept sporting the rain ponchos.

The fair and rodeo were a lot of fun.  It was so nice having Matthew and Lisa in town and getting to spend some time with them while they were here!
