Brooke's Half Year Mark!

Brooke is six months old. It is crazy to think that half a year has already passed by since she joined our lives. We are blessed to have her in our family. I love watching her grow and develop and it is fun to see Lydia start to interact with Brooke more as she learns and progresses. Here are some of the things about Brooke at six months old:

**She has started developing her own personality. It is so much fun to watch her grow!

**She loves Lydia and always smiles when she sees her. When they are in the car together, sometimes they just sit and giggle at each other.

**She can sit up all by herself and she loves doing it. If I lay her on her back she lifts her head and her feet up off the floor like she is trying to pull herself into the sitting position.**She loves to roll over from her back to her stomach and then her stomach to her back.

**She loves to eat. When I put her in the high chair she instantly gets fussy because I'm not getting her food fast enough and she opens her mouth as wide as possible waiting for me to feed her.

**She loves to make eye contact with people and smiles instantly when she knows someone is looking at her. **She loves playing with toys.

**Everything she touches goes straight to her mouth.

**She drools.**She loves to be standing up. She can stand up against some things and balance by herself.

**She has "army crawled" a few times. She sees something she wants and tries her hardest to reach it. Sometimes she ends up with her bum straight in the air, sometimes she scoots backwards, and sometimes she ends up going forward like she was wanting.

**She hates sleeping! She can be up all night long and still be very happy during the day.
**She loves drinking from sippy cups.

**She loves taking baths and splashing all over.

Here are some sister pictures. Both girls are so much fun. I love watching them together and know they will be the best of friends!

Get Together at Grandma Norma's

We had a get together at Grandma Norma's for lunch with some of my cousins and all our kids. It was so much fun. My grandma had ordered pizza so we were all able to eat lunch together and visit. After lunch we took the kids outside and let them play. They had fun coloring on the side walk together. My grandma is so much fun. She got down and was coloring the side walk with them.It was such a fun day. My grandma also pulled out some old pictures of when my mom was younger and it was fun looking at those and visiting with my cousins, aunts, and my grandma. Lydia loved having other kids to play with too!

Just Because

Brooke looked especially cute the other day so I decided to just take some cute pictures of her. Brooke is getting so big. I love her curly red hair and her chubby cheeks. She had just woken up from a nap so she still looks a little dazed, but she's still adorable.Amazingly enough, Lydia even wanted me to take some of her. That never happens. I know she isn't looking at the camera, but this is truly a once in a lifetime photo shot here. Daisy, Brooke, and Lydia in the same picture?!? Crazy!Lydia is such a pretty little girl. We are now just getting to the point where she will smile when we ask her too. Sometimes she'll do it, other times she won't.Typical sisters, right? Mom, she's touching me!This is the most common picture that I get, Lydia crawling away from where I had just posed her before I was able to get back to take the picture. There is too much to do for a little girl to hold still for that long!

Washing Dad's Truck

Last Saturday was an extremely nice day so Justin decided to wash his truck. Lydia absolutely loved helping. She was very diligent about making sure she was doing a good job too. I gave her a little sponge to use and she went around the truck saying, "Wash wash wash." She had so much fun.Justin, of course, had fun too.Brooke stayed in the garage and played in her bouncer. It was a little windy so she being in the garage was perfect for her.My girls are so much fun. I can't wait until Brooke starts crawling and walking. Lydia and Brooke will have so much fun together.

Wheeler Farm

Last time my mom came down for the day we loaded the kids up and went to Wheeler Farm. Lydia loves it there. She runs around and loves looking at all the animals. We took some bread so we could feed the geese and they came and swarmed her. At one point, I picked her up and took off running. The geese's heads came about level with Lydia's head and Lydia kept trying to feed them the bread from her hand instead of just tossing it to them. I was afraid that she was going to get bit. She loved it though. She thought it was fun when she would turn and run with a piece of bread in her hand and the geese would follow her.I think these pictures of Lydia on the stump are so much fun!Brooke slept through most of the excitement but the geese still tried to get her (or the bread on the stroller). We were also able to see other animals. We saw goats, chickens, cows, and sheep.Lydia loved this horse. She called it a baby horse because it was so little. They look like they are best buddies. We also played at the park while we were there. We went to Apollo Burger for lunch after Wheeler Farm. It is always so nice when my mom comes to help entertain us for the day.

Chalk

Lydia got sidewalk chalk for her birthday and she loves coloring outside. She usually tells me what she wants me to draw and points to where she wants me to draw it. Luckily she is forgiving and still has a great imagination because she thinks my drawings are fabulous. We usually draw Daisy, a frog, a pig, an elephant, a cat, a horse, dad, and Lydia. When we draw dad, I just draw a stick figure and then she colors in his eyes, ears, shoes, hands, and he always has to wear a hat. The elephant always needs a hat too because Dumbo wears a hat. Lydia is really so much fun. I don't ever get anything done because we just play all day.
