Pavlic Harness Round Two

Brooke was diagnosed with hip dysplacia at her two week doctor appointment.  Since hip dysplacia is hereditary we were told by the doctors to get an ultrasound on all of the kids we had, so we took Keera in for an ultrasound at five weeks (the same age Brooke got her ultra sound).  The ultrasounds are easy and not stressful for the babies at all.  We're also lucky to have a Primary Children's Hospital wing in the Riverton hospital.  During the ultrasound they found that Keera's left hip was not in the socket like they would hope and diagnosed her with mild hip dysplacia.  Brooke's right hip was the one that was out on her and Brooke's was much worse than Keera's.  So after meeting with the radiologist we headed up to visit with Dr. Stott who is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Primary Children's.  He recommended that we put Keera in the Pavlic harness.  The news made my heart sink a little, but at least I knew what to expect this time, and I know that we are blessed to be able to fix it so easily.

We go back for another ultrasound in four weeks to see the progress that has been made from wearing the harness.  Right now she is five weeks old.

Halloween Shirts

Keera was given a cute Halloween outfit from my visiting teacher and we had bought Lydia and Brooke a cute shirt to wear in October so I decided to take some pictures of the girls together and some of them alone.

 Keera does the best smiles.  She is a pleasant baby.

 Lydia loves to pose for pictures.  This is new for us.  She used to hate posing for pictures and we never could get good ones of her face because she would run away too quickly.

 Lydia is growing up so quickly.  She is the best helper and has such a tender heart.

 Keera is getting way too big.  She is just barely over a month old in these pictures.  Time goes by so quickly.

 

 Brooke's shirt fits her perfectly.  It says, Forget the ghosts, beware of me!  Brooke definitely keeps us on our toes, but she is also so incredibly sweet and sensitive.  We're blessed to have her with us.

Happy Halloween!

Halloween Party

Riverton City holds a Halloween Bash every year.  The girls liked being able to dress up and go to the party.  Lydia especially loves the thought of getting to go to a party.  Both girls really liked their Dorothy costumes.  We tried to talk Brooke into being the wicked witch, but she wanted to be Dorothy too.

 The Halloween bash was a lot of fun.  It had various games for the kids to play. 

 Brooke and Lydia both liked playing "pin the bow tie on the skeleton".  This is Lydia attempting to put the bow tie on the correct place.

 Brooke might have been a little too short for the game.  After each game the girls were able to pick a prize from a bucket.  I think that was Brooke's favorite part.  She would sit and look at the bucket and move her hand from item to item trying to decide what she wanted.  It was pretty cute.

 The girls were also able to eat some cupcakes, and cupcakes make the night complete!

 

Keera was at the party too.  I didn't take any pictures of her though.  We kept her in her carseat because she was sleeping.

Carving Pumpkins

We decided to stick with the Wizard of Oz theme while carving our pumpkins this year.  The girls are on a Wizard of Oz kick.  Through out my pregnancy with Keera she was known as the TinMan, Dorothy for the majority of it, and the Wicked Witch for the last few weeks.  Luckily for Keera, we didn't name her any of those names.

Brooke was fascinated with the pumpkins and getting everything out of it.

Lydia was quite disgusted by the pumpkin insides which made me laugh because she loves to play with worms.

Keera enjoyed being able to relax and watch what was going on.

The girls had the most fun with the pumpkin tops and Brooke serenaded us most of the time we were carving the pumpkins.

The girls loved having their pumpkins finished and done.  Lydia wanted to take them right outside and put them on the porch.

Keera is One Month Old

Keera is one month old and the time has flown by!  We tend to stay home a little bit more than we used to because of how much work it is loading all three kids in and out of the car.  Brooke and Lydia love Keera and they have adapted well to her.  They don't show any signs of jealousy towards her at all.  Every morning Brooke gets excited and says, "Hello baby," over and over and over again while she is up in her face.  You would think she never saw her before.  Lydia loves holding Keera and asks to hold her all the time.  One day she told me that she needed to hold Keera because she hadn't held her for awhile; it had been about twenty minutes since she had lost held her.  It is so much fun watching them with her. 

 Keera is a very pleasant baby.  She is content being put down and just relaxing while I run around taking care of Brooke and Lydia and everything else.  She loves to eat every two hours, day and night.  It adds a little challenge when we go places and makes me pretty tire during the night.  We're hoping that changes quickly. 

 Keera's hair is a dark brown color (the picture makes it look like it had red tint and it really doesn't).  She has hair all over her head and it is pretty long, but nothing like Brooke and Lydia's was.  Keera's hair always ends up looking like I put it in a mohawk regardless of what I do.  It is pretty cute though.

 We have gotten Keera to smile at us a couple of times when we were talking to her.  Lydia loved it.  Brooke loves when Keera moves her hands and touches her.  Brooke squeals and says, "Teerda get me."  It is pretty cute.  They both call her Teerda.

 The girls wanted their picture too so they laid down by Keera.  It is so cute.  I love seeing their sizes by each other. 

We love having Keera here with us.  She is so cute and so happy.  She almost creates a more relaxing pace to life.  It is wonderful.  I can't believe how quickly time has gone with her and I wish that it would slow down so we could fully enjoy our little baby.
