Lydia's First Halloween

Happy Halloween! Lydia got to dress up as a giraffe for her first Halloween! She is by far the cutest giraffe that I have ever met.We were able to get some pictures of her in her costume the last time that we were in Mendon. I think they turned out pretty good. My brother-in-law took them for us because he has a nicer camera than we do.Happy Halloween!

Weekend in Leeds

Justin was able to go deer hunting with his dad and brother-in-law, Clayton, last weekend. They left Friday afternoon to go and get camp set up so they could get an early start on the hunt Saturday morning. Clayton took his camper so Justin was lucky enough to be able to get to sleep in that. They got rained on a lot of the time. Justin said that things were just wet and muddy. Also, they did not get a deer. Yay! I know Justin was sad about it, but I wasn't too disappointed when they came home empty handed. Justin said that they had a fun time regardless and enjoyed camping and being outside.

While Justin was gone, I stayed in Leeds with his mom and sister. On Friday his mom had to work so I went and visited my great grandma who is living in St. George.Grandma Hull is living with Carol and Don (her daughter). We were able to visit with all of them. It was a lot of fun. I miss Grandma being closer and from our conversation, I could tell that she missed being closer too. Lydia was very pleasant while we were there and just rolled all over the place. She was making everyone laugh. Grandma kept saying that she was very busy. Grandma was looking good. For 94 years old she remembers and understands so much, and best of all, she still has her sense of humor. Carol and Don were talking about taking a trip to Hawaii and Grandma Hull told then that she wouldn't be able to go swimming because she has holes in the knees of her swimming suit.On Saturday, I hung out with Justin's mom, grandma, and sisters- Stephanie and Michelle - and their friend Susan. We went to the Dixie college's tailgating party for the football game. After that we went to a What Women Want Expo and then to Michelle's house to watch a movie. We had a lot of fun just hanging out and talking. Justin's sister Michelle is pregnant right now so next time we see her hopefully she'll have had her baby!This is Stephanie, Michelle, and Lydia hanging out at the What Women Want Expo.

Lydia is Eight Months Old

On October 23rd, Lydia turned eight months old! I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. She is getting so big!Her hair is getting so long. I decided to take some pictures with it straight because it shows the length a little better. If I don't pull her bangs back they hang into her eyes. Her bangs are almost long enough to tuck behind her ear. It is so much fun having a baby with lots of hair.
Lydia gets more fun to have around every day. We really are blessed to have such a cute, happy, health baby. Here are some pictures with her hair curly and pulled out of her face.Here is a list of what Lydia has been up to lately:

*She claps - she loves to clap and has started to clap at everything.
*She can wave- she opens and closes her fingers as her wave. She is starting to understand how to wave back when someone waves at her.
*She loves to talk and talk and talk- dada and baba are her favorite words but she also loves to just babble.
*She still sings - she will hold notes for over 30 seconds and also will raise and lower her pitch.
*She still rolls to get wherever she wants to go. She is really good at turning in a circle to change the direction that she wants to roll.
*She tries to crawl but ends up going backward instead of forward. She has been able to move forward a little bit. It is a lot of fun to watch her try.
*She has started dancing to music. She bounces up and down, shakes her head, stomps her feet, and moves her arms all around. She will dance to most songs, but when we play Lady Gaga, Bad Romance is when she pulls out all of her moves. It is pretty entertaining watching her.
*She loves to eat finger foods and to feed herself. Rice biscuits are her favorite. She gets excited when I pull the biscuits out to hand her.
*She has started taking a bottle. She took it a few times in Tennessee and when we came back I just kept trying to give it to her and she decided that she likes the bottle and drinks from it better than she nurses now. She is mostly on the bottle now because I have started to dry out.
*She loves to play with toys. She is content to just sit and play all day by herself.
*She sleeps through the night - yay!
*She still doesn't have any teeth.
*She has been to seven states - Utah, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Mississippi, and North Carolina. That is pretty impressive for an eight month old.

Bowling and Dinner

Two weekends ago we were able to take Lydia bowling for her first time. It was a lot of fun. We went with my family. My nephew also went for his first time too (he actually bowled, Lydia didn't). We had a lot of fun. After we went bowling, Justin, Lydia and I were able to go to dinner at our friend's house, Patrick and Nicky and their cute little baby Ellie Cassity, for the annual dinner in a pumpkin party. Jason and Nikki Staley were also there. We had our usual dinner menu. Dinner in a pumpkin and caramel apples.Punch with hands and breadsticks. This year we also had pudding too.We always have so much fun. We miss being able to see them as often.

Outing to the Zoo

Two weekends ago Justin, Lydia, and I went to the zoo. I forgot to post it sooner so I figured I better catch up. It was the perfect day for the zoo. It was a little cooler outside and there weren't very many people there. We started by going to the Elephant Encounter. We hadn't watched it before. It was a lot of fun. The elephant trainers come out and have the elephant do tricks. They had them stand up, balance, bow, and some other tricks. It was really cool. At one point, the momma elephant sprayed water on people that were watching. I don't think that she was told to do it either because of the trainer's reaction.We had fun wandering around. Lydia loves to see animals and we could tell when she found where it was because she would get excited and start squealing.Justin kept trying to feed Lydia to the lions.A little monkey and her daddy!
We had a lot of fun watching the tigers. They were pretty active and one kept trying to pounce all of the other tigers. It was really funny to watch.We are such a cute family of animals!We took Lydia to the Discovery Land at the zoo. It was a lot of fun posing her for all of the pictures.We had a lot of fun at the zoo and were glad to be outside spending time together.
