South Jordan's Parade and Carnival

Last year we went to South Jordan's town days parade and had a lot of fun so we decided to go again this year.  The girls liked the parade a lot.  Lydia caught on really quickly about getting the candy, but it took Brooke a little longer to get the hang of it.  Brooke was content with just two pieces of candy, one for each hand.

After the parade we went over to their carnival.  The carnival has this animal train that gives the kids a ride for free.  I think it is awesome.  Brooke loved it and waved the whole time she was on the ride.
Lydia thought it was a lot of fun too.  I think it was cute.  There is a 4-wheeler that pulls all of the carts.
We told the girls that they could each go on three rides.  Of course, they picked the carousel so they could ride the horses.  Justin was the lucky parent that "got" to go on it with them.  Neither one of us really enjoy going around and around.
Brooke and Lydia also picked the dragon ride.  I love Brooke's face because she is so serious when she is concentrating on things even if she is having fun.
Lydia thought the ride was a lot of fun and kept trying to give Justin a high five when she went past us.
The last ride they went on was some jeep ride.  It was great because they both had steering wheels and they both stayed focused on driving the whole time.
It surprises me how expensive carnival rides are.  I wish we could have justified letting the girls go on more rides, but it was still a fun day and they had a fun time.

Wheeler Farm

We went to Wheeler Farm with Cammie, Ashley, and Nathan.  The morning actually started out a little chilly, but it quickly warmed up.  The kids had fun running around after each other, looking at all the animals, feeding the ducks and geese, and playing on the park.

Brooke started getting a little worried after awhile with all of the geese coming so close to her.
 Doesn't Lydia look so tough.
It was a fun day.  Wheeler Farm is the perfect place to let the kids roam and get all their energy out.

Lydia's Family Portrait

Lydia drew a picture of our family with chalk on the sidewalk.  I had to take a picture so I would always have it.  I thought it was way too cute to just let wash away!
Lydia drew me first, then Justin, then Lydia, and then Brooke.  She said that "Brooke just little," and that is why she drew her so small.  The best part of the picture is how she draws the arms.  The arms are what appears to be ears.  Lydia loves drawing.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to my best friend ever!!  Justin is such a great day and is so good with the girls.  Everyday when he comes home from work he plays with the kids.  He'll take them out to ride their bikes, they go visit the neighbors beagles (dogs that Lydia refers to as the Daisy dogs), he lets them crawl and jump all over him, he changes diapers, he takes his turn getting up with the girls in the middle of the night, and he'll even take them to the grocery store to pick up random things for me and let me stay home and relax!  Justin is a great dad and Brooke, Lydia, and I are all lucky to have him in our life!!
The girls loved being able to help him open his gifts and to read his cards.  They made him ties and Brooke was having a hard time handing it over to him.  She wanted to play with it more.

Splash Pads

The girls and I went to a splash pad and the girls had a blast.  They ran from thing to thing and pretty much followed each other around the whole time.

It is a fun little splash pad, and close by so that makes it even better.

Water Fun

The girls love playing in water!  We have a little swimming pool that is the perfect size for them.  It has a little slide.  Brooke likes the slide best of all.

The pool is perfect because it entertains the girls for a long time.  Once they get bored of the pool, they like running through the sprinklers.  Brooke makes the best facial expressions when the water hits her in the face.

Daisy usually takes the lazy way out and takes a little nap in the shade.
Brooke and Lydia are at a fun age where they will play together really well.  Of course, sometimes, they fight with each other a lot too!  For the most part though, they are good little buddies!  I love watching them play and giggle with each other.  It really is the best!

Riding Samie

We went to Mendon for Xander's birthday party and while we were there Lydia wanted to ride Samie.  She was so excited because she was able to ride Samie by herself; I didn't have to hold onto the lead rope and Lydia got to hold onto the reins.  Samie is a really good horse and will follow me all around the riding arena.  It is great because it does let Lydia think that she is riding by herself.  It has been a great self-confidence boost for her.

Brooke loves riding the horses too.  She cries if she doesn't get to be on the horse.  It is fun to be able to let them do things like this.
