Lydia's Package

We ordered a back pack carrier for Lydia and when FedEx dropped it off, she was pretty excited. Of course, she didn't care what was in the package, she was just excited for a new toy. She played with it most of the day. She would try to climb in and out and then she would go and get toys to put inside of the box. It was pretty entertaining to watch. We went on a walk later with her in the backpack and I think she liked it because she was able to hit Justin on the back of the head. I didn't get any pictures, but I am sure by the end of the summer I will have some of her in it.

Provo Canyon

A couple of weekends ago we went to Provo Canyon for a picnic. Lydia loves being outside! Lydia found a stick and was trying to get Daisy to chase it from her.Justin also found a stick for Daisy to play fetch with. The funny thing is that Daisy actually did chase it and tried to figure out how to pick it up.Lydia kept trying to crawl under the picnic table. Our picnic was cut short because it started raining, but it was still so much fun to get outside since it has been so rainy the past few months.

Family Pictures

We had family pictures taken on April 26th from a friend in our ward. I think that she did a great job. Lydia got fussy half way through because she wanted to just play on the ground instead of being held, but Breeana was still able to get some great pictures. I can't determine my favorites, so this post is going to be all pictures. Lydia is fourteen months old in these pictures. I can't believe how fast she is growing up. We had the pictures taken at Wheeler Farm and she just wanted to see the animals (mostly all the ducks and geese that were walking around). She also just wanted to get down and crawl around. It was actually a really cold night too so that made things a little more difficult for her too.Keep in mind that I am four months pregnant in these pictures too....Here is the website for our photographer! She really is great. http://photographybybree.blogspot.com/

Double the Fun

We recently found out that we will be doubling our fun in the Whitmer household. We will be going from having just one baby girl to two babies. During the ultrasound, new baby had her feet up to her forehead. Lydia did the exact same thing when we did an ultrasound of her.We also found out that we are having another little girl! I think Justin secretly wanted the numbers evened out and was hoping for a little boy, but we are both super excited for another girl. Lydia and new baby will be 19 months apart from each other so they will be able to be best buddies. The due date was originally September 29th, but after the ultrasound the ultrasound tech said the due date is September 23rd. I am going to keep the due date of September 29th though because I would rather have the baby come "early" than late! I have a doctor's appointment again next week so we will see what the doctor says before I plan on an earlier due date. The above picture is Lydia reading a parenting magazine while we were waiting for the ultrasound. I think she thinks she needs to freshen up on her "mothering" skills. We are excited for new baby to come!

Hogle Zoo with Nathan

We wanted to see Nathan one more time before he left for Georgia so my mom, Jillian, and Nathan met Lydia and me and the zoo. Grandma Norma also brought Tayden because my cousins, Mindee and Jerry, are packing and going to be moving soon too. Randee, Lee, McKinzi, Cole, and Brighton also came. It made for a fun day being with family. The weather was perfect, but it was a bit crowded because I think every school in the area was on a field trip there. This is Lydia waiting for us to take her into the zoo.Grandma Norma, Tayden, Jillian and Lydia watching the elephants.Lydia loves animals. The whole time we were going through the zoo she would point and babble about what she was seeing.Right now they have a bunch of dinosaurs throughout the zoo. It was funny because they would roar and move and both Tayden and Nathan were afraid of them. I don't think Lydia knew what was going on.Lydia loved standing up and looking at everything. At one point she even pushed a little girl away because she was crowding her.The animals weren't very active today so we mostly just got pictures by the statues.
Jillian was enjoying having the day off of work and being with the kids too. She is still a kid at heart and is having a hard time adjusting to "grown-up" life since her graduation. The kids also got to go on the carousel ride. Lydia really enjoyed it. On her very last time around she noticed me standing on the side and started waving and smiling at me.Jillian and Lydia were on the tiger and Nathan and my mom were by the panda bear.We all had just packed a picnic for lunch. Lydia is enjoying a string cheese in this picture.
After lunch we went to the Discovery area where they have a playground type thing. The first area had rock home looking things that the kids loved playing in. In the picture is Cole and Lydia. The kids especially loved the playground.Nathan and Lydia playing on the alligator. They had a tunnel there that looked like a hollow tree and Lydia loved crawling back and forth in it. Tayden is behind her in the first picture. The kids all wanted to go on the train too! It is the highlight of their zoo trip.
I'm not sure why Nathan looks scared in this picture. It's quite the facial expression.
Lydia really enjoyed the train. She likes the feel of wind blowing on her face. After the train the kids all played in the water ball. They loved it. When I moved Lydia away from it she was soaking wet. I had to change her clothes before we left to go home.We had a fun day at the zoo and we are going to miss Nathan being around to hang out with.
