Lydia's Turn

I was trying to take Brooke's ten month pictures but Lydia decided she wanted a turn getting her picture taken.  She rarely wants her picture taken and she usually turns her head and runs away.  It was funny watching her try to figure out how to pose.

She was being so silly.  It was really funny to watch.  Justin and I always teased that we wouldn't ever have good pictures of Lydia because she can't hold still.  Hopefully things are starting to change for us!

It is hard to think there is 19 months age difference with these two.  Brooke just seems so big and so grown up!
Lydia wanted a picture with her horse.  "Picture horse too, hmm?"  Lydia is currently doing a thing where she says hmm at the end of all her questions.  The question that she asks the most during the day is, "That nosie, hmm?"  She asks it every time she hears a noise and continues to ask it until I have answered the questions.  Sometimes I ask her what she thought the noise was and she answers it.  She is so silly.

Lydia is such a cute girl.  She has an amazing personality that can go from being the silliest little girl in the world to the most stubborn little girl ever!  She keeps me on my toes.  She is starting to play pretend.  I love watching her learn and discover new things.  She loves to pretend like she is a little puppy.  She also loves to play with our little kitchen set and she pretends she is making cup cakes and then she brings me drinks after she fills the cup up from the faucet.  It is amazing how quickly the learn and grow up.

Brooke is Ten Months Old!

Brooke is a crazy little girl.  She is super busy and is crawling on and around everything!  She is almost always happy though and usually has a great big smile on her face.  She is growing up way too quickly.  I need her to slow down and enjoy being little!  Here is a list of things she has been up to:

**She loves to walk behind walkers.  She will cruise all over the room until she hits the other end.  She can't turn it around yet, so I help her and then she takes off again.
**She loves to put a toy on the ground and then push it with her hands.  She pushes toys everywhere.
**She plays peek-a-boo.  It is really cute.  At first she just covered her ears, but now she covers her eyes.  She likes to play it the most when I am trying to feed her baby food so it gets all over the place.

**She loves Lydia and wants to be just like her.  If Lydia is doing something, Brooke wants to do it too.
**She knows if you have given her baby food snacks or if she is getting "big people" food.  If I give Lydia a snack Brooke gets mad and yells until I give her what Lydia is eating.

**She loves to play in the little Cozy Coupe car.  She can climb in and out of it by herself.  She also likes to stand behind it and push Lydia when Lydia is in it.
**She is almost always happy.
**She loves playing in the exersaucer.
**She is starting to play by herself more.
**If people start laughing then she starts laughing too.

**She loves to clap.
**She can say mom, dad, Daisy, and I have heard her say ball.  She says Daisy the most and gets so excited to see Daisy.  Poor Daisy is so patient with the girls.

**She has three bottom teeth, but is getting more so she sticks her tongue out almost all day long.  I think she rubs it on her gums.
**She loves to take baths.  She gets to take a bath with Lydia and has so much fun.  She has even gone and climbed back into the tub by herself once after being fully dressed in her pajamas.
**She sleeps from seven at night until about seven in the morning.  When she wakes up she usually just starts talking and playing with her toys.
**She doesn't hold still and moves from one thing to the next (that is why her pictures are of her all over the family room)

**She loves to wrestle.  If we are wrestling Lydia or Daisy, Brooke instantly crawls over and jumps onto who ever is wrestling.
**She is very tough.  She can get pushed down or hit and never even cries.
**She can stand up by herself for about five seconds.

 **She waves to people.
**She mimics sounds that Lydia makes.

**She makes the best facial expressions.
**She gets excited when she sees her bottle.  She will either clap, start shaking, make a funny facial expression, or start crying.
Brooke is so much fun to have around and is constantly keeping us on our toes.  I love being able to be home with her and with Lydia and to watch the two of them start to act like friends.  It is the greatest thing ever to be the mother to two wonderful, little girls!

A New Swimming Pool

We've been wanting to get Lydia a little bit bigger swimming pool since the one she has is almost too small for her.  We found a fun one that came with a little slide.  It is perfect for both her and Brooke to play in and it will work for a few summers too.
Brooke is so fun to watch in it because she crawls around and then turns and sit and plays for awhile and then starts crawling around again.  She also stood up on the sides quite a bit.  She was so happy and excited to be in it.
Lydia loved playing with the toys in it.  She always sticks her head into the water so her hair is wet.  I love this picture because it shows them playing together so well.  Lydia is trying to squirt Brooke and Brooke just sat there and laughed.
Both Lydia and Brooke loved the little slide.  Lydia was really nice about sharing and kept telling me when it was "Brooke's turn" to go down the slide too.

Brooke's Pig Tails

I put Brooke's hair into pig tails.  I think that I could have done it a few weeks ago because it was long enough too!  She is so cute and the pig tails made her look so much older than nine months.

 The view from the back
Isn't she just the cutest thing ever?

Justin's Birthday

Justin turned the big 28 on July 6th!  Man he is getting old.  I can't believe that he is two years away from being 30!  That makes me feel so old.  The girls loved giving Justin his birthday presents...well, they loved opening Justin's birthday presents!

Lydia wanted to unwrap everything and Brooke wanted to play with the wrapping paper.
Lydia gives the best "big hugs" as she calls them.

Justin with his two little girls.  Lydia is still trying to get his birthday card open for him.  Once she got it open she actually brought it over to me.  She didn't even let him look at it!
Justin was nice enough to share one of his little candy bars with Lydia.  I think that is one of the reasons she was so excited to open the gifts is because she remembered we wrapped the candy bars.
Brooke loves to crinkle the wrapping paper, but then she tries to eat it.
Lydia, Brooke, and I went and got cupcakes and balloons and took them to work for Justin.  Once we got to his office Lydia was insistent that she got to eat one of the cupcakes.  She had it all over her face.  I am sad I didn't get a picture.  We also took Justin to lunch at In and Out Burger.  He really likes that place.  After work we took Justin to Boondocks.  On your birthday you get a free pass so he got that and then we just bought a few individual tickets for Lydia to ride with him on the Bumper Boats.
Lydia liked climbing on the bars while she was waiting in line!

Brooke wanted her stroller close to the bars so she could play too.  She doesn't want to miss out on anything!

I thought Lydia might be a little hesitant about being on the bumper boats, but she wasn't at all.  She isn't afraid of anything.  She loved helping steer and also squirting people.  It was fun watching her facial expressions when people squirt her too.

Justin was also able to do the little race track thing.  Lydia was too short to ride with him and she didn't understand why she had to wait.  She kept saying, "me turn car" and would take off to where Justin had stood in line.

We were also able to play some arcade games because the pass came with 20 tokens.  Both Lydia and Brooke had fun wandering from thing to thing.

Brooke thinks that she is just as big as Lydia and you can't leave her out or else she starts to get mad.

After the arcades Justin and Lydia did the bumper boats again.  Brooke had to stay with me so I let her have a sucker.  She was so sticky by the time she was done (or when I took it away).
Lydia came back from the last bumper boat ride soaking wet!  She loved it!
When we got home we gave Justin his birthday cake.  We lit the candles for him and sang to him and then he blew the candles out.  Justin's family sings the song and then lights the candles....so anti-climatic.

Lydia had to help him blow the candles out.
Brooke waiting patiently to get a piece of cake.
Lydia wasn't quite as patient and ended up sticking her fingers into the frosting.
It was so much fun celebrating Justin's birthday with him!!  He is such a great guy and we love him so much!!
