Coloring Easter Eggs

We colored Easter eggs on Sunday after church. Justin and I didn't color eggs last year so we decided we wanted to make sure we did it this year.Plus, Jillian and Brady were here so it made it a little more fun too.Justin got all technical about how he did his eggs. He made sure he had the egg holder thingy to dip his eggs with.Lydia liked holding the eggs and for some reason, she thought it was fun. I love how she has her feet up on the table. She is always trying to recline and always puts her feet up. She is such a smart little girl! We had a fun Easter and were glad that Jillian and Brady came and hung out with us.

Easter Morning

We bought Lydia a cute, little dress for Easter to wear to church. We tried to get some pictures of her in it, but Lydia always tries to crawl away because she doesn't like sitting in one place.We also took some pictures or us with Lydia.Also, some with Jillian and Brady since they spent the weekend with us.

Easter Basket

The Easter bunny hid Lydia's Easter basket in her little car that she has. She absolutely loves the car so I think the Easter bunny knew that she would be able to find it there. Lydia always get so excited when she gets new toys. The Easter bunny brought her some bubbles, a bubble machine, keys for her car, and a tube for swimming in the summer.Lydia also had fun playing with the grass from the Easter basket.Lydia was actually pretty spoiled this Easter because in addition to what the Easter bunny brought her she also got a new dress from Jillian and Brady and then my parents gave her a new dress, an outfit, a movie, a new little bunny blanket, and some goodies. Lydia is a very spoiled girl!

Easter Party at Grandma Norma's

We had a family Easter party at Grandma Norma's house on Saturday. All of my aunts, uncles, cousins and their kids got together. Some of the great grandkids are missing in this picture, but here are a few of them. We couldn't get them all to look at the camera at the same time.Grandma did an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Each of us brought some candy to contribute to the hunt, but Grandma still went above and beyond and there was so much candy there. Lydia got the hang of hunting for candy quickly. She would crawl on the lawn until she got to a goody and then pick it up, put it in the basket and then move on to the next candy.
She loved it. Grandma also did an Easter egg hunt for the adults where she hid things like tissues, cleaning products, and other useful items. We also had a big bbq and were able to visit and hang out. It was so much fun. My grandparents are the best!

Eagle Mountain Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday, Justin and I were watching Nathan so we decided to take him to the Eagle Mountain Easter egg hunt. Jillian and Brady were down for the weekend so they came too. (Justin actually missed the actual hunt because he was doing a service project with the elder's quorum).We didn't realize that it was going to be so busy until we looked out our window and realized that cars were parked clear down the street. So, we hurried and got the two kids into the strollers and booked it to the park which is just up the street from my house. They had it divided into age groups so Nathan was in the 3-4 year olds. He sat patiently and waited until the firemen honked the horn on the fire truck and complete chaos happened as kids ran to gather the eggs.He did really well gathering the eggs. I was impressed.It soon became a game of "Where's Waldo" as we tried keeping an eye on Nathan. Parents weren't supposed to be out on the field, but it made me nervous so we sent Jillian out to follow him.Here is a picture of Jillian.Lydia didn't get to do the egg hunt because she was too young, but she still had fun just playing on the grass. She loves being outside.In one of Nathan's eggs he found a dollar. He was pretty excited.Nathan was good and even shared one of his candies with Lydia, but she wasn't allowed to touch anything else. She could only look in the basket.The egg hunt lasted a whole three minutes, but I think Nathan still had fun with it.

Cute Little Girl in Pigtails

Lydia doesn't like to get her hair done at all! You have to have her completely distracted to get a simple ponytail in. Some days, however, I am lucky enough to be able to get to do more than a ponytail; we ended up with pig tails. Lydia is pretty cute!She also has recently decided that she loves to play with strings, or ropes, or anything long. She puts it behind her back and over her head. It entertains her for quite a while too.

I just think this is a cute picture of Daisy and Oscar so I decided to post it.

Conference Sunday

To help entertain Lydia during conference on Sunday, Justin decided to make a hut out of a blanket. I really think it was more to entertain him though. Regardless, it worked and kept both of them quiet so I could listen to conference.Lydia loved the hut. She went in and out and in and out.After a while the hut fell down (for an engineer he didn't make a very sturdy hut), but Lydia still had fun playing in the blanket. Actually, the real reason the hut fell down is because Daisy was laying on the couch where the blanket was and Justin called her. Daisy being the smart dog that she is walked out onto the blanket and then fell to the ground. Justin is so mean sometimes!!In between sessions, Justin and Daisy decided to take a nap. Daisy won the fight over the couch and Justin had to sleep on the floor. During the second session, Lydia decided to play in the laundry basket. It entertained her for a very long time. Lydia actually put that over her by herself.
The laundry basket made her hair stick up.She loved to sit in the basket.
We also decided to let Oscar out of his cage so he could join in the fun. Lydia absolutely loves Oscar. She always goes over by his cage and gets excited to watch him. This next picture isn't the best quality, but it shows Lydia's face the best. This is the face that she makes when she is excited to see him. Daisy isn't sure what to think of Oscar though.Lydia loves animals. She kept trying to give Oscar a treat.It was so nice to be able to listen to conference and just hang out as a family.
