The Pumpkin Walk

I talked my mom and dad and little sister into going on the Pumpkin Walk in North Logan with me today. Justin thought that a group project would be more fun so he went up to campus to work on homework.
The pumpkin walk is a bunch of scenes made from pumpkins and squash and such. It is pretty impressive what people can do with pumpkins.
The Noah's Arc scene was pretty creative. The penguins out of zucchini were pretty cute.

This scene is from The Nightmare Before Christmas. We dedicate this picture to Lisa because we know how much she enjoys this movie.
I liked this scene of the barnyard life. The animals were pretty cute. I especially like the horse.
I took this picture of John Wayne carved into a pumpkin for my grandpa. He is probably the biggest fan of John Wayne ever. He actually has a wall dedicated in his garage with John Wayne memorabilia.
We also had fun posing as the different characters. Jillian is in Cinderella and I am in Snow White.

Justin's Buddies

On Saturday we went to Orem to hang out with some of Justin's buddies from Leeds. It was a good time. His friend Scott made us dinner and then we went to the Haunted Forest.
The stories are always very entertaining when the boys start remembering "the good ol' days."






Scott showed us some videos he had made when they used to hang out in high school. Sometimes I wonder about the things they used to do. Boys will definitely be boys.

Grandma Rowley's Wedding

My mom, older sister, nephew and I went to St. George on Wednesday for my Grandma Rowley's wedding. My dad couldn't make it because he was out of town for work and my little sister and Justin both had mid-terms and couldn't make it either.
It is a pretty long drive with an eight month old baby, but we were prepared with the necessities. Nathan, my nephew was amazingly good. He didn't cry at all the whole trip. Good thing we had the mountain dew for him.
My grandma had the wedding in her backyard. She went with a Victorian theme. It turned out really nice.
Grandma was nice enough to help get out some of Nathan's wiggles by letting him play on her piano after the ceremony while everyone was eating dinner. I don't know if I would classify the arrangement he played as a typical wedding medley.








In our room Wednesday night, my mom wanted to make sure we were safe so she locked the door with the extra lock. However, she forgot to take it off when she tried to go back out of the room.

Pumpkin Patch

We learned about a pumpkin patch in Paradise from our neighbors. We went a few weeks later then them and we didn't have the most amazing selection, but we did find some pumpkins with character.
Most of the pumpkins that we found were completely flat on one side. There was some pretty interesting ones out there.
We put Justin's dad in charge of pulling the wagon. The front wheels actually ended up breaking on him. Next year he won't be in charge of the wagon.
I think all in all we found some pretty good pumpkins.
We had a good time taking the drive to Paradise. It was also a beautiful day so it was fun to just be outside for awhile.

Visitors

Justin's parents came up for the weekend. Last night we played a friendly game of golf on the Wii. I have to admit that I like bowling a lot better. It is probably because I can usually win bowling. My golf score was about as high as my bowling scores usually are. I don't think that is what was supposed to happen though.
This is Justin's dad. He loves the Wii. When we go to Leeds he always wants us to bring it with us. He was golfing last night with the "form" and everything.
This is Justin's mom. She had the best score last night night. She tried to be humble about it too. She is lots of fun to have around.
I don't think that last shot went where she was expecting it to go.
Justin gets really competitive when we play the Wii. Sometimes I have to let him win just so he won't be angry with me. He was the "most improved" golfer last night. His first hole took him 10 strokes. He did better on all the other ones.
I really like Justin's Wii character. I think it looks a lot like him.

Adobe

I have been playing a lot on Adobe lately while Justin has been working on homework. I get addicted to editing the pictures. Lately I have been making postcards and sending them to my family. This one was my favorite.I used to have a black lab puppy but she got really sick about a year and a half ago and I have to admit that I still talk about her constantly. She was such a good little buddy. She would follow me everywhere and did the cutest things. Anyone that met her absolutely loved her. She was the best dog ever.
My dad likes to go fishing but is always disappointed when he doesn't catch anything. I guess he was happier this time.
My little sister transferred to USU this year and Justin and I took her up to campus a week before school started. We took these pictures of her. This was the first postcard that I sent to my family.

Justin's New Calling

Justin got a new calling today. It seems as if it surprised him a little bit. We met with the stake presidency this morning and they called Justin to be the second counselor in the bishopric. He will do awesome at it! It was funny when he called to tell his sister because she just started laughing and didn't believe him. Justin didn't see the calling coming either, but I guessed it and told him that is what he was going to be called to. It will be a great experience for the both of us. He is an amazing guy and will be great for the ward. We are looking forward to the opportunity to serve.

Dinner in a Pumpkin

Last night we went to our neighbors for dinner in a pumpkin. Nicky made a delicious dinner that you bake inside of a pumpkin. It was great!

After dinner we started the process of making chocolate, caramel apples. We first dipped the apples in caramel and then put them in the fridge to cool.








While the caramel was cooling, we started watching the movie, Monster House. Justin believes that it is based on a true story. He is probably right. Once the caramel was cool we paused the movie and went and dipped the apples into chocolate. they had to cool again but once they were done, we all enjoyed eating them. Obviously, some enjoyed it a little more than others!!! Thanks Patrick and Nicky.
