Here is the video of Providence Canyon. This is the beauty of having an old 4 wheel drive Tacoma, not too many worries about scratches. Plus it is a PURPLE Toyota, how cool is that!

Memorial Day Weekend

We started this weekend by leaving work a little early on Friday and heading up Providence Canyon. We weren't able to go all of the way through the canyon because the road on the other side was still closed due to snow. Luckily for us Justin had researched it out before we went up there so that we didn't go all that way and have to turn around and head back. Justin will post a video later with pictures of our drive.

On Saturday we went on a hike with my dad (my mom was in Phoenix for a wedding) and their dog, Hollie. We walked up the Wellsville mountains (the Mendon mountains if you live in Mendon) to a lake called Cold Water Lake. It wasn't really a lake, but Hollie enjoyed it all the same. The view from up there was amazing. Everything was extremely green. It wasn't a hard hike, but still a lot of fun.Hollie and Dad also enjoyed themselves on the hike.
Hollie had to be in the lead almost the entire time. The only time she would slow down is when I stopped to take pictures and she had to make sure that I was still coming.
On Monday my sister came up from Salt Lake and we went on the same hike again. This time it was a little more adventurous. We took two vehicles to get to the trailhead so we would all fit, Justin's truck and my mom's Yukon. Dad was driving the Yukon and we'll just say he needs a little more practice in the mud.
Luckily Justin was there to pull him out. The weather on Monday wasn't as nice as Saturday. We got rained on a little bit when we were pulling the Yukon out of the ditch (which the picture doesn't show justice to where he was stuck) and we also got rain a few times on the trail. We were able to get some good family pictures (we are missing Matthew and Lisa though because they are in Tennessee and didn't think a family hike was worth coming to visit for). This is my mom and dad. Kind of looks like an engagement picture.
This is Cammie, Dan, and Nathan (Nathan is the little, cute guy). This is Justin and me. Justin is the cute red-headed one.
This is Jillian and Brady (the happy soon to be married couple)

We had a lot of fun. Cammie had brought her dog, Aspen. Hollie and Aspen both had fun playing in the water this time.
The rain actually made it nice because it made the view even more clear.

Disneyland Continued

Justin mentioned in the last post that we would update the blog. Sorry that it has taken me so long, but here is more of an update on our trip to California. We left Sunday after our stake conference, which, by the way, was amazing. Elder Oaks came and he is an amazing person. We loved listening to him and watching him walk around and shake everyone's hands. Anyway, we drove to St. George on Sunday and spent the evening with his family. Yes, that is correct. I spent my first wedding anniversary with the in-laws.

On Monday we drove to California. The first two days we just saw the open road.
Justin did most (all) of the driving on the way there. I'm not a huge fan of driving. I offered, but he was okay driving so I let him. Once we got to California we checked into our hotel and then drove to the beach. Justin was most excited about going to the beach.
We pretty much had the whole beach to ourselves which was way nice.

Our second and third day of the trip we spent in Disneyland. Justin already added a movie with a lot of the pictures that we took so I won't make you look at too many in this post.
We had a lot of fun. Justin at first wasn't too excited to go to Disneyland because he didn't think that there would be enough for us to do, but as the time went on he had more and more fun. Our favorite ride was the new Toy Story ride. It was awesome. You get to where 3-D glasses and everything.
Justin also really liked Splash Mountain and he proved it by singing the Zip-a-dee-do-da song all trip long. He even sang along on the ride. People turned around and looked at me with the "Can't you control your children" look.

In California Adventure, Justin and I determined who we would be if we were to be Disney characters. Justin was most like Aladdin.

I was most like Mrs. Potts from Beauty and the Beast.

If we were to be villains, Justin would have been Gaston from Beauty and the Beast and I would have been Snow White's wicked step-mother. It was kinda silly, but fun at the same time. We also learned how to draw Pluto. We are natural artists.
Our fourth day on vacation took a different twist for us. Justin feeling a little sick the first few days of the trip and we thought it might have been a little cold coming on, but by Thursday he was hit pretty hard with the flu. He didn't get out of bed all day long.It was a pretty long day. I felt pretty bad for him. I was a little (or a lot) on the bored side of things though. The tv had pretty crappy stations and the ones that they did have didn't work very well. I was able to get in some shopping though.
I was afraid that he would get hungry so I made sure to buy enough soup so I wouldn't have to drive around California by myself again.

Luckily for us Justin was feeling tons better on Friday. We figured he had the one day flu. We went back to Disneyland and just took things easy all day. It was still fun because we were able to go and see some of the shows and attractions that we probably wouldn't have normally done.

On Saturday we drove back to St. George and spent the night there and had dinner on Mother's Day with his family. All in all it was a really fun trip!!

One Down, Eternity To Go

It's official. Justin and I have been married for one full year. Can you believe that he has made it one year putting up with me? Or that I have made it one year putting up with him? Okay, I'll be honest, Justin is amazing and not hard to put up with at all. He is the most amazing husband ever and I am so greatful to have him in my life. He is the best husband ever. He is so patient with me and so understanding and honestly tries (and achieves) at making me so happy. He is the best!
My sister-in-law, brother, and little sister made me a quilt for our wedding. However, it took a year to finish and they sent it to me this week. They wanted us to have it for our one year mark.
I can only imagine how long it took to make the quilt and I know that a lot of thought went into it. I in the picture below there is a design of dog prints. That was put on in memory of my puppy Sadie who I continuously talk about. She was the best dog ever.
Thanks guys for the blanket. We love it!!!
Happy Anniversary Justin. You are the best ever!! I love you!!
