Hawaii - Day Two - Dole Pineapple Plant

Our second day in Hawaii started a little crazy. Originally we weren't planning on renting a car, and then they decided that it would make things easier with a car. So we started by taking shuttles back to the airport to pick-up a rental car. Once we got that all figured out we headed to the Dole Pineapple Plant. We got there before the main shop opened so it wasn't crowded at all while we walked around the area. This is us by a pineapple plant. It is still weird to me how pineapples grow. It take 45 months for one plant to grow three different pineapples, but each pineapple is picked off at various times through out the 45 months. We all were able to pose as pineapples. Here is Justin as a cute, little pineapple.MeRon and CarolGrandma StirlingWe went on a train ride around a working pineapple farm while we were there. The next pictures are some of the views we saw while on the train ride.
The next picture is a conveyor belt machine they use to harvest the pineapples. The grounds at the Dole Pineapple Plant were so pretty. They had a walking garden tour that we had fun walking through. We made sure to take time to stop and smell the flowers.Justin had to stop and take a little nap during our garden trour. We enjoyed ourselves at the Dole Pineapple Plant. I love all of the flowers and different trees that Hawaii has. After walking around the plant, everyone (except me since I am allergic) ordered some pineapple ice cream to cool off with.
