On Wednesday, our fifth day in Hawaii, we started off by going to the swap meet at the University of Hawaii stadium. Justin wouldn't let me take his picture by the sign. I think he didn't want proof that he actually went to the swap meet while we were in Hawaii. It was funny because Justin kept asking how big the swap meet was. He kept saying, "when does this row end," and "does it go all the way around the stadium?" It was funny. We only walked through about a quarter of it and headed back to the North Shore for lunch and some beach time.
The sea turtles were out swimming again. There were probably thirty or forty in the small area of the beach that we were at. One of the sea turtles had come all the way up onto the shore.
Since the sea turtles are an endangered species they have volunteers that stay on the beach all day so that if the turtles come onto the beach they can make sure nobody bothers them. I went and talking with one of the ladies and she said that this sea turtle was about 35 years old. They had a tracking device on her at one point and it showed that she went 500 miles to mate recently. They said that the sea turtles come up onto the beach to rest.
Justin's dad had bought a boogie board and they were trying to use it, but kept hitting into the turtles that were swimming.
The next picture is Grandma Stirling sitting on a bucket with her umbrella.
The view from the North Shore is so pretty.
After the beach we stopped at Matsumoto for the infamous shaved ice. I didn't get a picture of us eating one, but they were delicious.
After the beach we went back to the hotels and hung out for the rest of the night.
