Santa's Arrival

Riverton City does a Christmas party and Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus ride in on a firetruck.  We learned from last year and got there early this year.  I sent Justin and the girls next door to the library and then I waited in the line to visit with Santa.  It was a great plan.  The girls and Justin came back from the library and only had to wait a few minutes in the cold before Santa came.  Lydia thought it was so much fun that Santa was on a fire truck.  When she sees fire trucks now she asks where Santa is.  I couldn't get a good picture of Santa on the fire truck, but here we are waiting.

After Santa came they let us into the building where the mayor passed out coloring books to all of the kids.  We then went upstairs to wait for Santa.

Lydia wasn't afraid of Santa at all.  She went right up to him and asked for a shopping basket.
Brooke, however, was afraid of Santa.  She was okay sitting on Mrs. Claus' lap, but didn't like Santa.
I couldn't get a picture with both of the girls looking at the camera.

We also got our picture taken with the elf.  She is Miss Riverton and lives in our ward.
After seeing Santa we went back downstairs and frosted cookies and picked up a craft packet.

Outside we had scones and hot chocolate and could roast marshmallows.  They also had a wagon ride we could have gone on, but Lydia wanted to play at the park instead.

It was a fun Christmas party!  Riverton does a great job with activities like that for the families.
