Weekend in Mendon

Justin went on a backpacking trip with the guys from his work two weekends ago. Lydia and I decided to go to Mendon to hang out with my parents instead of staying home alone. My parents bought a swimming pool to keep at their house for when the grandkids came and Lydia loved it!It has a little slide that Lydia was able to go down pretty quickly. Lydia loves water so this was perfect for her.One of the nights we went to Angie's for dinner and my dad taught Lydia how to blow the paper off of straws. Lydia thought it was so funny and was giggling the whole time that she was doing it.My parents keep Lydia pretty busy while she is at their house, but this time she had time to stop and smell the flowers.
In the next picture you can see her trying to grasp the concept of sniffing. It was funny watching her try to do it.The dogs enjoy being outside and resting in the shade. One of the days my dad took her to the park. I think that he had just as much fun there as she did. They just went from one thing to the next and onto the next.Lydia had fun playing in the tunnel.Of course, it always isn't just about playing, Lydia gets to help with the work too. Luckily they have a tractor that is just her size.It rained really hard the last night that we were there and little frogs ended up in their window wells. My dad went and caught some for her to see. Lydia didn't want to touch them, but she loved watching them. If you ask her what a frog says she says "bit" and if you ask her what the frog does she will jump while saying jump. She also then says "uh oh" and puts her hand over her mouth because my dad let the frogs hop off of the porch. When we saw Justin again Lydia actually told him about the frogs all on her own. "Bit." "Jump!" "Uh oh." I had to fill in the few details she left out so he actually could understand what she was trying to say.
