Pavlic Harness Round Two

Brooke was diagnosed with hip dysplacia at her two week doctor appointment.  Since hip dysplacia is hereditary we were told by the doctors to get an ultrasound on all of the kids we had, so we took Keera in for an ultrasound at five weeks (the same age Brooke got her ultra sound).  The ultrasounds are easy and not stressful for the babies at all.  We're also lucky to have a Primary Children's Hospital wing in the Riverton hospital.  During the ultrasound they found that Keera's left hip was not in the socket like they would hope and diagnosed her with mild hip dysplacia.  Brooke's right hip was the one that was out on her and Brooke's was much worse than Keera's.  So after meeting with the radiologist we headed up to visit with Dr. Stott who is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Primary Children's.  He recommended that we put Keera in the Pavlic harness.  The news made my heart sink a little, but at least I knew what to expect this time, and I know that we are blessed to be able to fix it so easily.
I love Keera's mohawk in the pictures.  The shadows make it look a little worse than it really is.
She looks like she is relaxed in the harness.
Here's another view of the harness.  It holds her legs in place so the the ball of the hip is held into the socket where is needs to be.
This picture make her look mad that she has to wear the harness.

We go back for another ultrasound in four weeks to see the progress that has been made from wearing the harness.  Right now she is five weeks old.
