Lydia's Blessing

We were able to bless Lydia on March 28. All along we had planned this day thinking that it would be our fast Sunday because General Conference is the first Sunday of April. However, we didn't find out until about two weeks before that our stake was actually doing fast Sunday on the Sunday after conference. We had already told family members and they had changed days off of work and made arrangements to be able to attend that we decided to keep it on the 28th. In our ward our bishopric is getting released the Sunday after conference, so Bishop has asked the bishopric to speak. It worked out well because then all of our family was able to listen to Justin give his talk. He did such a great job with his talk and also with the blessing. I am so lucky to be married to such an amazing man! I love him so much.Lydia had been a little fussy all morning long (hence the reason we don't have pictures of her smiling), but she was great all during the blessing and during church. Justin said that she was wide awake during the blessing and just looked up at everyone in the circle. We were blessed to have such great family support. A lot of my family was able to come up from the Salt Lake area. We missed having my Grandparents Nuttall who were on a cruise which was planned before they knew the date and also my Grandma Rowley who is house sitting in California. Justin's extended family from around the valley and his immediate family from down south we also able to come and support us. We really appreciate it.I had done Lydia's hair before I left for church. When I get it wet it becomes extremely curly with really tight curls all over. I even had put some mousse in to help the curls stay nice and tight. However, after letting people hold her all during sacrament meeting, she came back to me with "frizzy" hair. I'm certain that everyone that held her ran their fingers through her hair before passing her on to the next person that wanted to hold her. After church we were able to have people come over to my parent's house (since we now live in Eagle Mountain) for a little luncheon. My parents went to so much work preparing for this. We appreciate all that they do and have done for us this last little bit. They are great!Bishop Cook always says that if a baby cries during the blessing then it means that the baby didn't like their name. Lydia must like hers because she didn't cry. When I was pregnant we told everyone that we were naming her Jeffica after my dad Jeff. Before Justin left for his meetings on Sunday my dad offered him $3,000 to say her name was Jeffica during the blessing instead of Lydia. I think Lydia would have cried for sure if Justin had done that.We had a lot of fun seeing everyone and having the opportunity to bless Lydia. She is such a blessing in our lives! I am so grateful to have a husband that is worthy to bless our children.

My parents
Justin's parents
Jillian and BradyCammie, Dan and Nathan. Nathan was funny during church because Justin was sitting up on the stand and Nathan kept yelling to him and calling his name.
Brandon, Stacey, Trey, and Levi
Michelle and Stephanie. Clayton wasn't able to make it because he had a scout activity he was in charge of in St. George.
Lydia was finally able to meet another great grandma. This is Justin's grandma, Grandma Stirling.
We were also able to get a four generation picture with Lydia, Justin (Lydia's dad), Lydia's grandma, and Lydia's great-grandma. Lydia is pretty lucky to have so many grandparents and great grandparents around.

What a special day. She is adorable in that dress. We are sad to hear about Bishop Cooks releasing... We miss the 41st ward so much and he was such a great bishop. He had some really awesome counselors too ;)
